
Brian founded LandersCRT, LLC in 2012 and has served as an expert witness on law enforcement, corrections, & security practices for plaintiffs and defendants alike. He attained national recognition as a prominent and forward-thinking expert in the landmark case, Kingsley v. Hendrickson (576. U.S. 389, 2015) in which his consulting and expert testimony changed the scope of use of force on pre-trial detainees. A 19-year veteran of law enforcement who worked patrol, K-9, investigations, drug units, and rose to the rank of Lieutenant, he brings valuable street experience to his clients. Brian is now a full-time professor of criminal justice and provides consulting and expert testimony services through LandersCRT. Clients have counted on Brian to provide consulting and testimony on numerous high-profile civil and criminal cases across the United States. He frequently serves as a media consultant on police and criminal justice issues for ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox News affiliates. Brian is active in government, having been elected to the Columbia County, Wisconsin, Board of Supervisors (2006-2010), Mayor of the City of Wisconsin Dells (2011-2017), & was recently appointed to the bench as the Municipal Judge for the City of Wisconsin Dells in 2025. Brian specializes in use of force, de-escalation, K-9's, officer-involved shootings, firearms, less-lethal, police training, in-custody death, evidence and investigations.

Daniel served twenty-nine years in law enforcement as a Uniform Patrol Officer, Corporal of Police, and Sergeant of Police. Daniel is currently a part-time educator and trainer. Daniel provides consulting and expert testimony on a select basis for both civil and criminal cases. Daniel holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, and an Associate’s Degree in Police Science. Daniel is a Master Trainer in Standardized Field Sobriety, Field Drug Testing, and Window Tint Investigations. Daniel also holds multiple instructor certifications in a wide range of law enforcement topics that include but are not limited to use-of-force, firearms, emergency vehicle operation, vehicle contacts, de-escalation, traffic law, constitutional law, drug recognition expert, highway drug investigations, drug identification, radar/laser speed detection, service animals, special restraints, domestic abuse, and sexual assaults.
